我終於拿到簽證了。
可能很多人都還搞不清楚我碰到了什麼樣的麻煩，所以在這邊說明一下，
以後大家要辦美簽的也要小心。

非移民簽證有三種安全檢查：
*  The Visas Condor: Heightened Security Checks
* Visas Mantis: Technology Alert List
* NCIC Criminal Database Checks
第一種安全檢查用於來自特殊敏感地區人士（北韓、中東等等）或是特殊敏感身份
（特種部隊訓練？） 第三種則是姓名被列於犯罪名單上的檢查，有時是同名同姓
而被連累。我們若申請簽證被要求安全檢查，則通常是第二種。
怎麼樣會被要求進行第二種檢查勒，只要你從事的行業/進行活動的目的被列在State Department的 Technology Alert List (TAL)中的 Critical Fields List (CFL)
上，你就有可能會中標。
這個「黑名單」包括：
*  Conventional Munitions
* Nuclear Technology
* Rocket Systems
* Chemical, Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering （啊哈）
* Remote Sensing, Imaging And Reconnaissance
* Advanced Computer/Microelectronic Technology
* Materials Technology
* Information Security
* Laser And Directed Energy Systems Technology
* Sensors and Sensor Technology
* Marine Technology
* Robotics

* Urban Planning

其中 第四項（也就是我們可能會碰到的）包括以下內容
* Aerobiology (study of microorganisms found in the air or in aerosol form)
* Biochemistry
* Pharmacology
* Immunology
* Virology
* Bacteriology
* Mycology
* Microbiology
* Growth and culturing of microorganisms
* Pathology (study of diseases)
* Toxicology
* Study of toxins
* Virulence factors
* Genetic engineering, recombinant DNA technology
* Identification of nucleic acid sequences associated with pathogenecity
* Freeze-drying (lyophilization)
* Fermentation technology
* Cross-filtration equipment
* High “DOP-rated filters” (e.g., HEPA filters, ULPA filters)
* Microencapsulation
* Aerosol sprayers and technology, aerosol and aerosolization technology
* Spray or drum drying technology
* Milling equipment or technology intended for the production of
micron-sized particles
* Technology for eliminating electrostatic charges of small particles
* Flight training

所以，只要移民官看了你的文件，懷疑你跟上列任何一項有關，就會請你「到四號窗口」
去。四號窗口移民官會就你的工作/就學內容再次詢問，除非你夠厲害完全不要提到任何
上述名單中的字眼，不然他就會很客氣的給你一張黃色單子，請你完成他們需要的文件
（履歷，研究報告，聯絡資訊等等），然後請你「靜待」「數星期」等他們完成安全檢查
程序。
這個「數星期」通常是四到六週不等。所以你最好做最壞的打算可能得等上將近兩個月。
如果可以的話，最好在窗口問清楚幫你辦理的移民官是誰（不過通常他們會語焉不詳
不肯說）。萬一不幸等了一個月都還沒消息，可以寫信去AIT的非移民簽證組詢問，(
http://www.ait.org.tw/zh/contactus.asp) 緊迫盯人。通常AIT都會很快打電話回你，
不過也只會說「我們也在等美國方面的消息啊，很不好意思云云。」
要避免被安全檢查，最好就是注意你的簽證申請文件(DS2019, I20)上不要提及任何讓人
生疑的字眼（比如我的virology study就是萬萬提不得），或是被問的時候也盡量不要講
到（像我就是個笨蛋virology immunology microbiology DNA sequence全講了通通中標)
。還有就是辦簽證前時間要預留足夠，免得到時候兵荒馬亂。
雖然我簽證拿到了不過聽說有颱風要來…@@ 運氣這麼好真是該去買樂透了…orz
