I know they have heavy workload, I know we have way too many immigrant related what-so-ever issues with US government, I also know that fighting with governments regarding your immigration issues is among the most painful and annoying experience one can have, no matter which country you’re dealing with…
But I still want to say, boy I hate USCIS.
First I filed I-765 last march, they took the money but didn’t give me receipt number. I can’t say more about how much time and money was wasted on tracing the case.
Finally I got approved, but never received I-766, the working authorization card. I called them in August and file another I-765 to replace the card– never heard back from them.
Although my I-797 is good for employment as well, unfortunately I need my I-766 to get a house mortgage (what??!!). So I need to deal with the super-slow and non-efficient USCIS again. Before calling them, I warned my mortgage agent that I might not be able to solve the issue, in fact, I might not be able to get any information. All they (USCIS agents) are good at is asking you a bunch of useless questions and then tell you they cannot help.
As expected, after talking in vain with a impatient woman for 5 min she transferred me to a “higher level officer”, with whom I waited “40 min” online just to heard from him that “our system is down now so please call back tomorrow”. NICE!!!!
